The Animes

Allow me to explain.

I have a weird relationship with anime as a genre and art style. I used to hate it as a whole and refused to watch anything more anime than Miyazaki because I thought the whole genre was, in general, cheap and stupid.
Then one of my close friends introduced Gurren Lagann, Mushishi, Mononoke (the show, not the movie), Paranoia Agent and FLCL, which changed my opinion of anime as a whole (that not all of it is completely awful). I started looking up series on my own and found Revolutionary Girl Utena and Rose of Versailles.
Utena is probably my favorite series I've watched so far, and I completely fell in love with the classic 1980s shoujo art style of Rose of Versailles (the first anime style I've actively wanted to emulate). So I decided to dick around and give it a try.
I may actually try to appropriate a more anime-esque style into some (not all) of my art (probably not close to as retarded ridiculous as this, but similar).

tl;dr: Not all anime is completely shitty and also I want to draw like Riyoko Ikeda.
